If a Check Services Company that uses Driver's License for verification instead of MICR is configured in PCCharge and then an attempt is made to set up a check reader, this error will occur OK is clicked on the Device setup screen. If using driver's license, then a check reader's services are not needed for the check verification process.
If, instead, this error occurs while configured for and they are set up with MICR, verify that the com port selected in the configuration window for this device is the com port on which the device is installed.
