Modem Hangs Up During Multiple GSAR/CES Transactions

Problem

The modem hangs up after each transaction when multiple transactions are being processed.

Solution

Verify that the multi-trans wait time (Setup/Preferences or Setup/Configure System, then Advanced) is selected (or set to 1 in older versions). If it is already set or if setting the multi-trans wait time does not resolve, then the account may not be set-up to process multiple transactions. Call the processing company and verify that the account is setup for multi-trans.

Once the processor sends the approval response, PCCharge will reply with an ACK. If the processing company does not send an ENQ after the software's ACK reply, then the software will terminate communication. Therefore, the processor must send an ENQ after the ACK or multi-trans must not be set-up on the processor's end for that merchant account.
