QD ####### - Quit Duplicating - QD Error
KBA-01163
Problem

When attempting to settle a batch a QD error occurs (see format below).

QD ####### (#'s can vary)

Solution

This error indicates that Vital/Visanet sees a duplicate batch based on the batch number being transmitted.

Generally, the software did not receive the Settlement Complete marker. Therefore, the batch number was not incremented and the settlement file may or may not have been deleted by the program. This is primarily caused by communication problems such as power or modem failures. Another possible cause would be a new installation.

To Resolve:

  • Print out the Pre Settle or Authorized Batch Report.
  • Call Vital/Visanet and find out if those transactions settled.

If those transactions HAVE settled (Note: It is imperitive that the processor confirm the settlement of these transactions before these steps are performed. Failure to verify with the processor may result in the loss of transactions.):

  1. Shut down PCCharge.
  2. In version 5.6.0 and above, go to Batch | Batch Management | Indeterminate Batches, highlight the batch file that failed settlement and click Update Database. (In versions below 5.6.0, rename the file visa1.pcc in the PCCharge directory to visa1.pcc.old.
  3. Restart PCCharge.
  4. Go into the VisaNet Extended Data Fields (Setup | Credit Card Company | Extended or Setup | Merchant Setup | Setup Wizard, then click Next twice.).
  5. Increment the Batch # by one.
  6. Continue with normal processing.

If those transactions HAVE NOT been settled (Note: It is imperitive that the processor confirm that these transactions have not settled. Failure to verify with the processor may result in transaction duplication.):

  1. Go into the Vital/Visanet Extended Data Fields (Setup | Credit Card Company | Extended or Setup | Merchant Setup | Setup Wizard, then click Next twice.).
  2. Increment the Batch # by one.
  3. Settle the Batch.
  4. Continue with normal processing.
