Problem

When attempting to run a transaction in Authorizer 4.0.1, the error is 'Port Parameter Error 1' and can occur on both the server and client machines.

Solution

On the server machine, verify the correct modem COM port is selected (Setup/Communications/Standard Modems/Select 'Use Manual Modem Setup'). The correct port can be found in the control panel of the Windows Operating System (Modem Options or Phone and Modem Options, then go to the Modems tab).

Additional Comments

Resolving this on the server machine should prevent the error from occurring on both the server and the client machines.
